Eaton raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings guidance to $13.70 to $13.80 a share, with earnings under US accounting rules (GAAP) guided to $10.39 to $10.49. It also lifted its outlook for organic sales growth, which leaves out acquisitions, to 13-15%.
The raised outlook matters more than the quarter, because it resets the earnings base for the rest of the year. For shareholders, that means the year's profit now starts from a higher level. For the fourth quarter, Eaton guides adjusted earnings to $4.05 to $4.15 a share.
The third quarter itself was better than expected. Earnings were $3.68 a share, $0.10 above forecasts, and revenue was $8.95B against $8.59B expected. Chief executive Paulo Ruiz said organic growth and segment margins exceeded the company's guidance on strong demand and disciplined execution across its businesses.
Eaton also agreed to buy COL Group, a maker of medium-voltage electrical distribution solutions, for $921m. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
