Apple misses on revenue at $114.50B as earnings per share beat by $0.02
Profit per share of $2.05, which leaves out a tariff refund benefit, topped forecasts, but the October questions about iPhone demand are still open.
Chart: AAPL, one-minute prices, three sessions
Apple missed revenue forecasts in its latest quarter: sales of $114.50B fell short of the $115.66B expected. Earnings per share of $2.05, which excludes a tariff refund benefit, beat the forecast by $0.02.
A sales miss and a two-cent beat settle little, because the doubts about Apple this autumn concern iPhone demand. In October Nikkei Asia reported that Apple had told suppliers to cut production of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max after weaker-than-expected demand. The report linked that weakness to higher memory chip costs. A reported 30% drop in India festive-season sales in late October added to the unease.
China is where the question is sharpest. Whether the missing features were holding back iPhone sales in China is untested, and these results give no fresh read on how buyers there respond once they arrive.
Apple's board declared a dividend of $0.27 per share, payable on November 16 to shareholders of record on November 12.
